The Annual Progress Report on Plan2040 provides summary statistics on the status of the Plan2040 goals, policies, and strategies as of the end of calendar year 2022. It also highlights some of the achievements that occurred in 2022. The appendix provides a brief update on all of the 400+ strategies with descriptions and performance measures.

Kaii-Ziegler as New Director of Planning and Zoning

Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman announced today that Steven Kaii-Ziegler will be the new Director of the Office of Planning and Zoning, beginning July 31. Mr. Kaii-Ziegler lives in Annapolis and has three decades of planning experience in the region. Phil Hager, the county’s current planning director, will move to a new role working directly with the County Executive’s Office on redevelopment projects.

COUNTY COUNCIL MEETING-March 18, 2019

County Council meets twice a month on Mondays, except in budget season when they meet more frequently. The regular Mondays are the first and third Monday of the month unless the Monday is a holiday.

The Adequate Public Facilities Bill has been withdrawn so a more comprehensive bill can be presented. There is still not a consensus on the Cannabis bill and the bill was amended and will be heard again on April 1.
